Birthdays and Holidays

Birthdays

On the day we celebrate their birthday we will have a special birthday walk. You are invited to join us for that celebration. After our special “walk” , you are welcome to stay and read your child’s favorite book (brought from home) . Your child’s birthday celebration will be prescheduled to ensure we don’t double up our birthday celebrations. If the assigned date doesn’t work for you please visit with your child’s teacher to reschedule. Prior to your child’s birthday we will send home a paper for you to fill out that will tell about your child’s years since birth.

If you wish to bring treats for your child’s birthday, please DO NOT send cupcakes, cake or fruit roll ups. Prepackaged items such as Rice Krispie bars, cookies or bagged “gummies” make good, non-messy treats.

Holidays

The holidays we celebrate at Children’s House are Harvest/Thanksgiving, Winter, Valentines Day and Spring. We have a Parent Tea and Art Show in May. Special activities will be planned in conjunction with each holiday. Our party days are kept very low key. Each child will be asked to bring special assigned treats or party supplies to one party during the year. An assignment list of the party your child will bring treats for will be sent home the first week of school. Specific assignments will be given to each child one week prior to the party they are providing for. You may be asked to help in the classroom the day of the party your child is assigned to.

Show & Tell

Traditionally, we do not have a specific “show & tell” day. If your child has a special item they would like to share with the class, please visit with their teacher about making specific arrangements to bring those items in.
